Great leaders and teams learn to communicate at different levels, in a variety of ways with one another. Every interaction with our employees is an opportunity for further buy-in into the organisation and encouraging them to be the best version of themselves.

Great teams have one on one quality communication.

One on one sessions are usually done regularly, weekly, bi-weekly, monthly. They are great opportunities to get down to the truth of the matter and be forthcoming.

Publicly praise, privately sharpen. Not only are you setting goals in these meetings, you are also tracking their progress in achieving these goals, coaching them into success in their roles! These are times when employees are also given the opportunity, most importantly, to voice out their needs and be heard. This helps to ensure corporate culture and happiness are in tune!

You should follow-up in more than one ways – verbally and written, so that the main points of your meeting are communicated clearly and effectively. That way you both are on the same page.

Workshops or meetings are objectively carried out but tactfully with care. The goal of any form of communication should be to gain quality information out of the interaction while making employees feel comfortable, valued, capable and free to express their ideals.

Great leaders, when addressing the whole entire company, do not take this time to micro-manage departments or employees. They take on a macro mindset and stay fervent on the bigger issues that engages everyone in the room.

Great leaders use this time to express their warmth of welcome to new key members to the corporate family. Through dinner and dance annual events, leaders express their appreciation for everyone in the company and celebrate the year’s corporate journey. This is also the opportune time for leaders to voice out praise, and publicly award the “go-getter” achievers in the company.

Employees enjoy these warm gathering and they find the time well spent because it touches them on a deep level on how the company is indeed a corporate family, having fun together, learning together and achieving breakthroughs together.
